Sculptra in Reigate
Looking for a natural approach to facial rejuvenation? At DermAttract Medical Aesthetics, we offer Sculptra in Reigate to help restore age-related facial volume loss and improve facial contours gradually.
Led by Dr Thilani Dias, a GMC-registered GP with a specialist interest in dermatology, we prioritise patient safety, facial harmony and realistic expectations.
What Is Sculptra and How Does It Work?
Sculptra is an injectable collagen biostimulator made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible and biodegradable material used in medicine for many years.
Unlike traditional hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, which provide immediate volume, this treatment stimulates the body's natural collagen production. Over time, this helps improve underlying tissue support, restore facial fullness and create smoother contours.
Results develop progressively over several weeks and months, making it particularly suitable for patients who prefer natural-looking improvements rather than an immediate transformation.

What Can Sculptra Help Treat?
At DermAttract, we recommend this treatment primarily for suitable adults experiencing age-related facial changes.
It may help address:
-
Facial volume loss: Restoring fullness around the cheeks and other appropriate areas.
-
Hollow temples: Improving the appearance of sunken areas where clinically suitable.
-
Collagen decline: Supporting the skin's natural structural framework.
-
Reduced skin firmness: Improving the appearance of mild age-related tissue changes.
Although treatment may improve certain aspects of skin quality, it cannot replace surgical lifting for significant skin laxity.
Sculptra vs Traditional Dermal Fillers
Traditional dermal fillers typically use hyaluronic acid to add immediate fullness to specific areas.
Sculptra stimulates the body's natural regenerative response, gradually improving tissue support over time.

Who Is Suitable for Sculptra?
Patients considering Sculptra in Reigate receive a comprehensive medical consultation to determine suitability. Ideal candidates are generally healthy adults experiencing mild to moderate facial fullness loss who prefer gradual improvements and understand that several sessions may be necessary.
However, treatment is not appropriate for everyone.
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the product's ingredients or a history of keloid formation or hypertrophic scarring. It should also be avoided in areas with active infection or inflammation. Treatment is generally avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding due to insufficient safety data. Certain medical conditions, inflammatory disorders or previous complications may require additional assessment.

Your Sculptra Treatment Journey
01
Consultation and Treatment Planning
We assess facial proportions, areas of hollowing and underlying tissue changes before developing a personalised plan.
Our approach is conservative, prioritising balanced results and avoiding unnecessary treatment.
02
The Treatment Procedure
Following cleansing and preparation, the product is administered into carefully selected areas using an appropriate injection technique.
Local anaesthetic may be used for comfort, and the treated areas are gently massaged afterwards.
03
Number of Sessions
Most patients require approximately two to three sessions, typically spaced four to six weeks apart.
The exact number depends on individual needs, the degree of facial ageing and treatment response.
04
Recovery and Aftercare
Most patients can return to normal daily activities shortly afterwards, although temporary swelling, redness, tenderness or bruising may occur.
Patients are generally advised to follow the 5-5-5 massage routine: massage treated areas for five minutes, five times daily, for five days, unless advised otherwise.
Avoid excessive sun exposure, UV exposure and extreme temperatures until initial redness and swelling have resolved.
When Will I See Results and How Long Do They Last?
Unlike traditional fillers, results are not immediate. Any fullness directly after treatment is usually caused by temporary swelling and the injected fluid, which settles over the following days.
As collagen production develops, some patients begin noticing improvements after approximately four to six weeks, with further changes emerging over several months. The face may gradually appear less hollow, with smoother contours and improved facial balance.
Clinical studies indicate that results can last up to approximately two years, although longevity varies between individuals.
Treatment does not stop the natural ageing process, and maintenance appointments may be appropriate.

Are There Any Risks or Side Effects?
As with all aesthetic injections, there are potential risks.
Common temporary effects include:
-
Swelling and redness
-
Bruising or tenderness
-
Mild discomfort around injection sites
Less common complications include persistent lumps, nodules, inflammatory reactions and infection. Rare but serious vascular complications, including tissue injury or visual impairment, can also occur with facial injections.
Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, PLLA cannot be dissolved using hyaluronidase.
